Job Description:
As a Mechanical Design Specialist at Rhosigma Engineering, you will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of electronic products and systems, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate product requirements into innovative mechanical designs and solutions. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with electrical engineers, firmware developers, and other stakeholders to define mechanical requirements and specifications for electronic products.
- Designing and modeling mechanical components, enclosures, and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
- Conducting feasibility studies and mechanical analyses (e.g., stress, thermal) to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost.
- Generating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing.
- Prototyping and testing mechanical designs to validate functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements.
- Collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturability and quality of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Providing support to resolve mechanical issues during product development and manufacturing.
Additional Information:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; advanced degree or relevant certifications may be preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software and mechanical design tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and requirements applicable to mechanical design (e.g. IPC standards, RoHS).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
